Diabetic Gastroparesis

December 10, 2003 | Diabetes

Motilium (domperidone) is often effective for treating the disturbing and dangerous symptoms of gastroparesis (delayed stomach emptying) in patients with diabetes mellitus who have severe autonomic neuropathy causing disturbed stomach motility (with nausea). Viagra (sildenafil) has also been demonstrated to improve stomach motility in people suffering from gastroparesis, but has not received approval for this indication from the FDA.
